Hey there, lovebirds! We’re thrilled to share one of our all-time favorite coastal wedding venues with you: Crook Point. Nestled on the stunning Southern Oregon coast near Brookings, this place is nothing short of magical. As a wedding videography team, we’ve had the joy of capturing some truly unforgettable moments here, and we can't wait to show you why Crook Point might just be the ideal spot for your wedding or elopement. Check out our tour video for more!

The Charm of Crook Point

Picture this: you’re standing on a cliffside, the Pacific Ocean stretching out before you, waves crashing against the rocks below. The sun is setting, casting a golden glow over evergreen trees. That’s Crook Point for you. This family-owned estate has been around since the 1800s, and it’s packed with history and charm.

One of the coolest things about Crook Point is its variety. There are multiple venues on the property, each with its own unique vibe. Whether you’re planning a small, intimate elopement or a big celebration with all your friends and family, there’s a spot here that’s just right for you.

Arch Rock Main Lawn

If you’re dreaming of a big wedding, the Arch Rock Main Lawn is where it’s at. This expansive lawn can host up to 300 guests, and it’s perfect for both ceremonies and receptions. There’s café lighting strung up for a cozy ambiance, a built-in bar, and a dance floor where you can dance the night away under the stars.

The Main Lawn also comes with all the practical stuff you need – bathrooms, parking, and a preferred list of caterers who know how to make a wedding feast unforgettable. We’ve filmed some incredible weddings here, with first dances that brought tears to our eyes and dance parties that lasted all night. Crook Point keeps an up-to-date pricing guide for the Arch Rock Main Lawn here. You can download a full layout of the venue as well.

Cove Beach

For those of you who want to say your vows with your toes in the sand, Cove Beach is a dream come true. This private beachfront is one of very few in Oregon, giving you all the beauty of the coast without the crowds. Imagine a ceremony on the beach, followed by a reception on the adjacent lawn with tiki torches lighting up the night. It’s intimate, it’s romantic, and it’s completely yours. That’s right, nobody can access this beach except for you and your guests. Which is totally unheard of in Oregon, where almost all the beachfront is public property. This venue is grandfathered into a bygone era where Oregon beaches were privately owned.

Birdie’s Beach House

If a micro wedding or an elopement is more your style, Birdie’s Beach House offers a cozy, picturesque setting. The lawn here has a sweeping view of the Pacific, and there’s access to another private beach called Birdie’s Beach. The house itself can sleep up to 9 people, making it a perfect spot for your wedding party or family. We love filming here because every corner of this place is filled with charm. Did we mention there’s a hot tub?

Mervue Estate

Mervue Estate is another gem at Crook Point, ideal for micro weddings. This four-bedroom house can host up to 50 wedding guests (it sleeps about 8 people) and offers tons of space for a ceremony, reception, and all the little events that make a wedding weekend special. There’s a generous patio space for dining and dancing, and the house itself is beautifully renovated, offering a comfortable and stylish place to stay. The large driveway also leaves room for you to pull a food truck right up to the party, if that’s your jam. Mervue Estate is also a VRBO! But be sure to contact their events team if you're planning to get married here. 😉

Sandstone Point

Last but not least, Sandstone Point is perfect for those epic sunset sessions. This peninsula juts out into the ocean, offering panoramic views that are nothing short of breathtaking. We love taking couples here for their formal portraits – the grassy knolls and wildflowers make for a stunning backdrop.

Why We Love Filming at Crook Point

As wedding videographers, Crook Point offers us so much to work with. The diverse venues mean we can capture a variety of scenes, from the grandeur of the Main Lawn to the intimate beauty of Cove Beach. The natural light here is incredible, especially at sunset, and the private settings mean we can get those candid, intimate moments without interruption.

We also appreciate the practical aspects – the onsite accommodations and the included rentals make everything run smoothly. And the history and charm of the place adds a unique touch to every film we create here.

Quick Shoutout

As wedding videographers, we get to know dozens of professionals like florists, caterers, and coordinators. While we don't play favorites and we definitely don't do paid promotions, we feel that Becky Hart of Event Crush deserves an honorable mention in this blog post. We have filmed a lot of weddings at Crook Point, and Becky has been the planner/coordinator behind at least 50% of those weddings. When you get married at a destination like Crook Point, you want a wedding planner who actually knows the venue and who can truly handle the logistics of hosting a big party out in the middle of gosh darn nowhere. Becky knows her stuff. She's as sharp as a tack, she's down to earth, and frankly, we adore working with her. We think you will too.
