The venue's location within Pomarius Nursery means you're enveloped in a sea of plants, which make a stunning backdrop for every shot. The Orangerie, a covered area within the nursery, provides a magical setting for ceremonies, with natural light filtering through the greenery. The outdoor patio, adorned with bistro lights, creates a romantic ambiance for evening receptions. When you book Blockhouse, you’re getting more than just a beautiful space. The rental includes a full 12 hours (6 am–12 am), chairs for 50 guests, custom wood and bistro tables, a 6ft wooden bar, outdoor lounge furniture, bistro lighting, surround sound, and a chef-inspired kitchen. Plus, our team will handle setup and breakdown of all Blockhouse inventory, and a staff member will be on-site throughout your event.
They've got a stellar list of preferred catering teams who know the space inside and out and deliver top-notch service. If you have a specific caterer or chef in mind who isn’t on the list, just reach out—they are happy to chat about non-preferred options and make it work for you.
It’s super easy—Blockhouse handles all the coordination for the Orangerie. The spaces are designed to flow seamlessly together, so your setup and vendor planning stay simple. Access for decorating begins at 4 pm, with guests welcome starting at 6 pm once the nursery closes.
Street parking near Blockhouse is free and unmetered! If you’d like something closer, there are rental lots just a few blocks away, including one right across the street.
Of course! A complimentary one-hour rehearsal is included with ceremony rentals, scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Rehearsals at the nursery typically happen between 6 pm–8 pm after it closes, but they are flexible if you need other options.
Their team takes care of setting up and breaking down Blockhouse’s inventory, including tables, chairs, and the bar. Your planner or caterer will handle any additional rentals or décor, but garbage and debris cleanup is fully covered by their cleaning fee—so you can just enjoy the day!
