Insider tips for

Smith Rock

01

Do I need a Permit to get married at Smith Rock?

If your group includes 20 people or less, then you most likely do not need any special permits. You can simply scout a cool spot, gather, and exchange your vows! When in doubt, you can contact the Park Manager at (541) 548-7501 for questions.

02

I have a larger group, do we need to make a reservation?

Wedding groups of up to 50 people can reserve the North Point Amphitheater by calling the park office at +1 (541) 548-7501 extension 1, and leaving a message.  Reservations can be made up to 6 months in advance beginning at 6am. Pro tip: call as early as possible!

03

Will I need to go on a difficult hike to get to a good view point?

Nope! In fact, some of the best views of the park are just steps away from the visitor center. In the video above and the map below, you’ll find view points for every skill level.

04

Is Smith Rock pet-friendly?

It sure is! You can bring your favorite four-legged friend along for the adventure. Dogs must be kept on-leash, and there are multiple locations with water fountains to keep your pup hydrated!

05

What should I pack?

Depending on the time of year that you elope, the temperatures at Smith Rock can be intense! Make sure to bring multiple bottles of water, as well as a jacket. That’s right. The high desert can be hot and cold as the sun changes position over the cliffs. If you are planning to hike down into the park, then hiking shoes or comfortable sneakers are also recommended.
